WIN! Georgia legislature passes ESA bill

From the Wall Street Journal: “Sixteen Georgia House Republicans dealt school choice a setback a year ago, voting against education savings accounts, or ESAs, for students in poorly performing districts. This month the ESAs came back to life, imperfectly, but at least it’s a start.”

WIN! Wyoming enacts state’s first school choice program with ESAs

With Gov. Mark Gordon’s signing of HB 166 – also called the Wyoming Education Savings Accounts (ESA) Act — Wyoming has enacted its first school choice program, which will create an ESA program for low-income students.

“Growing up as the first-generation eldest daughter of immigrants, I faced numerous challenges navigating my schooling journey. Despite my parents’ best efforts [to aid me in schoolwork], their own education only extended to sixth grade in an underdeveloped country. It left them unable to help me.

“A turning point came when my mother transferred me to Bruce Guadalupe, a charter school, for middle school. At the school, I found the support I so desperately needed.”
