Happy Black History Month! Put Kids First ND is advocating for policies that promote school choice for all families, regardless of their background, and is excited to amplify the voices of black families during Black History Month through recent data:

  1. Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) are met with 78% approval from Black parents, as are school vouchers (79%), charter schools (74%), and open enrollment (78%) when provided with comprehensive descriptions. Source: EdChoice, “Black Parents and K-12 Education” National Report
  2. There is little opposition among Black parents to school choice policies when they are presented with a thorough and detailed account of the implications. Source: EdChoice, “Black Parents and K-12 Education” National Report

It’s time for North Dakota to embrace the liberation of choice and give all families the opportunity to access the learning environment that provides their child a fulfilling and personalized learning journey.
