Satisfaction with children’s schooling highest among private school, homeschool parents

Private school, homeschool, and charter school parents are more satisfied with their children’s schooling experiences compared to district school parents, according to EdChoice’s national 2023 Schooling in America Survey.

Conducted near the end of the 2022-23 school year (April 18-May 2), the annual poll by EdChoice and Braun Research collected responses from 1,504 current school parents on a variety of K-12 education topics.

When asked about current satisfaction with their children’s schooling experiences, private school and homeschool parents had the highest satisfaction (77 percent and 76 percent, respectively) with charter school parent satisfaction at 74 percent. Satisfaction among public district parents came in at 67 percent, with only 28 percent reporting they were “very satisfied” with their children’s schooling experiences in this learning environment.
