American Experiment North Dakota is pleased to host a special National School Choice Week event at the North Dakota State Capitol on Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In partnership with Americans for Prosperity North Dakota and EdChoice, the event is designed as an opportunity for students, families, and educators to spotlight the variety of educational options available in the state and celebrate all the different types of school choice — from traditional public schools to private schools to homeschooling to other learning models that play a role in supporting student success and educational innovation.

During the event, students will have a chance to share their experiences and perspectives on school choice and read Gov. Kelly Armstrong’s School Choice Week Proclamation for the state of North Dakota. Legislators will also have an opportunity to provide their thoughts about the value of educational choice.

Complimentary hot cocoa and light snacks plus fun giveaways and a pizza party raffle will be available for participating schools. Additionally, transportation reimbursement grants are available. Following the event, Capitol tours will be provided to all who are interested.

National School Choice Week is observed annually to raise awareness of the importance of empowering families to choose the learning environments that best meet their children’s needs. This North Dakota event is intended to be a positive celebration of educational opportunity, focusing on collaboration, awareness, and civic engagement. It is designed to be family-friendly and members of the public, educators, and students have been invited and encouraged to attend.
