For decades, North Dakota’s economy has gone up and down with the unpredictability of the world oil and gas market. OPEC oil ministers and occupants of the White House sometimes have more control over our economy than state leaders. This event will explore policy changes and priorities that will put North Dakota in position to take advantage of the next oil boom without experiencing the inevitable bust. Economist John Phelan will discuss policies to improve North Dakota’s economic outlook and Education Policy Fellow Catrin Wigfall will discuss how North Dakota can shed its complacency and catch up to other states when it comes to education reform. Ticket includes lunch.
