Big uptick in Americans saying K-12 education is on the wrong track

Seventy percent of the general public believes K-12 education in the country is heading in the wrong direction, according to EdChoice’s 2023 Schooling in America Survey. Compared to views in 2022, that is a nine-point increase and the highest percentage to say K-12 education is on the wrong track since the survey was first administered in 2013. Only about one in four Americans believe K-12 education is heading in the right direction, marking a 15-point decline since 2021.
